Court Advocacy

Legal advocacy services to victims of domestic violence are offered in the Markham and Bridgeview courthouses. Court advocates also provide legal educational groups and IDVA education for residential clients of the Crisis Center.

The Court Advocacy Program provides crisis intervention, community education, and follow-up contact to victims. The Advocates also offer emotional support and assistance in understanding the court process.

Crisis Center advocates provided over 9,000 hours of court advocacy and support to 1,408 victims of domestic violence in FY 2007.
