Hospital Advocacy

Medical professionals are often the first contact for victims of domestic violence. In many cases, someone from the medical field represents a safe and familiar option for a victim who wishes to reveal instances of abuse.

The Crisis Center and Advocate Christ Medical Center work in partnership to provide services to women identified as victims of domestic violence. Advocates also provide training to the medical staff on issues of domestic violence.

In FY2007, this program provided services for 3,781 hospital patients and conducted professional training for 64 hospital staff members.
