Volunteer Opportunities at Neat Repeats

Volunteering for a worthy cause can be one of the most rewarding experiences of one’s life. Since Neat Repeats first opened its doors as a small storefront business in Blue Island, Illinois in 1986, it has been making a difference in the lives of victims of domestic violence and the hundreds of volunteers who have given of their time and talent over the years. Today, with locations in Orland Park and Worth, Illinois, it employs over 160 volunteers- a commodity it can’t exist without. Through their hard work, proceeds provide over 33% of the operating budget of the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
Volunteers are always needed at both of the Neat Repeats stores in Orland Park, located at 9020 W. 159th Street in Orland Park and 7026 W. 111th Street in Worth. Volunteers enjoy the time they spend sorting through donations, helping on the sales floor, and socializing with other volunteers.
Current Orland Park store volunteer Rosemary Ondrus of Tinley Park said she was looking for something to fill her time when she decided four years ago to become a volunteer.
“I retired and was looking for something interesting and beneficial,” said Ondrus. “I had at one point worked in a resale shop. I learned about Neat Repeats and I was interested…the women I work with are wonderful people,” she added. “Time goes by quickly and we have a lot of fun.”
Those interested in volunteering at one of the stores should contact the stores directly by calling Orland at (708) 364-7605 or the Worth store at (708) 361-6860. Stop by for a tour on one of the specified days listed below!
