Prominent Frankfort Residents Rally Support for
March 2010

Written by: Debra L. Marillo, Community Relations Director

Nearly 300 people crowded the Silver Lake Country Club on Saturday February 20th to raise $90,000 for the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. In attendance and raising support for the event were Frankfort residents Mr. & Mrs. Jeffrey Blanchette and Sally T. Clair (PHOTO ATTACHED). Ms. Clair and Mr. Blanchette are board members and served on the event committee along with Mrs. Kelly Blanchette. The Heart to Heart Extravaganza honored Patricia Leoni, principal at Greenbriar School in Chicago Heights, first female trustee of the Tinley Village Board, longtime board member at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia and prominent Tinley resident, with the Dianne Master’s Award. In addition, Advocate Christ Medical Center received the Corporate Recognition Award for its outstanding service and support of the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. The Courage Award was awarded to the families of veteran employee Kathy Garcia of Oak Lawn and longtime volunteer Carol Kearney of Palos Heights who both passed away in 2009 while serving the organization with extraordinary dedication and commitment. The $10,000 raffle prize winner was John Costello, who gave a large portion of his winnings back to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia!
