“Comcast Cares” About the Crisis Center for South Suburbia Emergency Shelter
April 2010

Written by: Debra L. Marillo, Director, Community Relations

Over 50 Comcast employees gave up their day off on Saturday, April 22, to give the Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s Emergency Shelter a new face, covering the interior and exterior areas of the facility. Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s Executive Director Edward Vega, Sr., Board President Therese Dubelbeis of Orland Park and Board member and Tinley Park Trustee Patricia Leoni were there to welcome the group and help out during the day. The fleet of workers performed such tasks as painting, landscaping, gardening, and installed new flooring. Comcast Project Leader Jamie Clay provided direction to the workers. The project at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s shelter was one of hundreds held across the country on Saturday, April 22 for Comcast Cares Day, an employee volunteer project which lends a helping hand for agencies which assist those in need.
