Crisis Center for South Suburbia Raises Support to Feed Homeless Victims of Domestic Violence
July 2010

Written by: Debra L. Marillo, Director, Community Relations

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia (CCSS) raised nearly $3,000 in the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s 5K Hunger Walk on June 26, 2010 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The purpose of participating in the Walk was to replenish the CCSS grocery shopping account at the Food Bank. This is critical in having adequate meals for the women and children residing in the CCSS Emergency Residential Shelter. The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is grateful to all who came out to support the effort and help ensure a supply of food for those in need. Participation by CCSS and friends was organized by Rita Muth and Rene Kalinowski, employees of CCSS.
